WDGC Architects were hired by the owners of Surrey Place Shopping Centre to study the feasibility and benefits of re-locating the proposed ALRT Station closer to City owned land - near the Surrey Place Shopping Centre. The study was successful in proving to the Ministry of Transportation that the proposed new location would have significant benefits for all involved.

A revised ALRT Station layout was created here with drawings and studies and the new location location was adopted.

As anticipated; strong growth of public, commercial and residential properties resulted over the next 20 years.

The current aerial photos show how the area is now home to a mix of institutional and commercial developments.

Note the cut-and-paste method of this pre-digital effort using; felt pens, tracing paper and new colour photocopiers.

Not seen here are the technical drawings using track alignment geometry that Huculiak used to thread the elevated track through the the existing City owned properties and the client’s shopping centre.
